The Opening Ceremony of 2012 China   Trans-Asian Zheng He International Culture & Tourism Festival Sailing Culture   Exhibition
July 11, 2005 is the   600th anniversary of the Chinese navigator Zheng He’s first sailing,   so Chinese government sets July 11 as the Sailing Day of China. This year, in order   to commemorate Zheng He, the Kunming government and Jinning County, the hometown   of Zheng He, sponsor the 2012 China Trans-Asian Zheng He International   Culture & Tourism Festival Sailing Culture Exhibition in Yunnan Provincial   Museum, under the assistance of Jin Feibao and his   company.
At   09:30am, the exhibition was declared   open. Several senior   officials and heaps of audience attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, the   Jining county magistrate awarded the famous Explorer Mr. Jin Feibao the   certificate of Honorary Citizen of Jinning County in honour of his endeavors to   promoting the spirit of Zheng He and the development of Jinning. Many other  officials made speeches at the ceremony and then visited the exhibition and   praised the exhibition highly. 
The exhibition shows over 75 delicate ship models; many of them are   made on the basis of famous ships, Zheng He’s Treasure Ship, Greek boat,   Mayflower, Victory, San Maria, Titanic, USS Constitution, and so on. Almost all   famous navigators, Zheng He, Christopher Columbus, Bartholmeu Dias, Vasco da Gama,   Amundsen are here, and all kinds of sailing tools. There is also a   lighthouse in the blue ocean for guiding the ships, and an strong sailor in the   delicate model. It’s a real ocean once you come here!
