These video clips are to support "Schenectady Today" by Ann Parillo, the clips being shown at the breaks between her guest interviews. Many of these videos are also edited for an independent production, Near & Far for "Open Stage Media" (public access TV-16) at Proctors Theater in Schenectady and they are broadcast on other public access channels in the Capital Region. BPW -- "Life Unplugged" (30 minutes)
BPW -- "Life Unplugged" -- Life Unplugged (LU) is an interactive, educational experience for young people that helps them envision what they want for their futures. Participants make decisions, learn financial literacy, and what it means to be an adult - the real world! In this experiential exercise, youth can determine their most important values, identify their ideal careers, practice living within a monthly budget and work through critical life choices.

Kunming Walkabout, Part II (30 minutes)
Images of Kunming China from Yunnan University to the Wu Family Restaurant to Wen Min Xin Street and on the streets and in the markets. Filmed by Gregg Millett, March 2013, with flashback 1945 photographs taken by Gregg's father, Dr. Clinton Millett. Dr. Millett was a US Army doctor who led the 172nd Hospital convoy across the Burma Road from Ledo India to Kunming China in 1945. Dr. Millett's photographs are on permanent display at the Yuan Xiao Cen Yi Shu Yuan Museum in Kunming and in the archives at the National Museum of China in Beijing. These photographs are recognized as the earliest collection of color photographs of China.

The Human Condition in Extremis (30 minutes)
Paul Grondahl, addresses the Capital District Humanist Society. Paul is a veteran award-winning reporter at the Albany Times Union who talks about his experiences covering some of the most catastrophic disasters in recent years. He shares stories and photographs of his assignments that have taken him to Ground Zero on the morning of 9/11, to Haiti after its devastating earthquake as well as to troubled regions of the world such as sub-Saharan Africa. In this illustrated talk, Grondahl discusses what he witnessed in terms of the human condition when humanity is faced with extraordinary duress. He offers his observations on how ordinary people responded with courage and resilience to these catastrophic events.
