The Book -- 1945 Is Waiting For You Three days after we arrived in Kunming the book arrived at the exhibition, hot off the press. The book was a collection of my Dad's letters and photographs from 1945 as well as other documents and photographs which documented World War II and the culture of Kunming during this time. During the first week of the exhibition Ann and I signed about 1,000 copies of the book. It was the highlight of our trip -- working 9am to 5pm; saying hello to people, taking photographs, hearing stories, meeting people from the first exhibition and making many new friends. During the second week of our trip, we went off sightseeing and Jesse took up the post at the exhibition and signed about 1,000 more books. |
